Hermione Olivia is the MD of UNTOLDMOULD with a passion to empower people to breathe clean air in healthy spaces thanks to the new UM air detection offering. She is also the founder of female empowerment platform, CEO YOURSELF.
In our interview, we speak to her about the meaning of a healthy home, the inspiration behind the brand, her personal wellness journey, and the everyday rituals that help her create a nurturing environment for her family.
What do you love most about your home?
The people in it and our bath. It’s my sanctuary at the end of the day. And the kitchen. I designed the kitchen, so it's my favourite part.

What makes your house a home?
Again, the people in it. Definitely the sound of the kids playing. They love playing in the garden and just the beautiful noise of a busy household makes it home.
Can you define what health means to you?
Health to me is feeling really good inside and out - mentally and physically feeling strong and energetic.

What inspires you to help people with their health?
I have had a complicated journey with my own health, of highs and lows like most people, and I feel that when you do find tips and tricks that help, you want to share them so that other people can feel well, too..
What is the easiest hack we can implement to achieve better health?
Obviously using UNTOLDMOULD to test the air that you're breathing. You are asleep for approximately a third of your life, so having a good mattress and breathing good air when you're asleep is really important. And drinking more water - we all need a daily reminder to drink more water.
What's always stocked in your fridge or pantry?
Bread. We always have fresh sourdough or baguette, and having little kids, I always aim to have full fruit and vegetable bowls. Since becoming a mum, I would say that our cupboards and benches and fridge are always overflowing with healthy options for them.

How can we bring a healthy lifestyle into our home?
I think it's about being considerate with the products that you purchase. Again, since becoming a mum, I'm much more considerate about using non-bio and organic products, and doing my research as to what I'm putting on a counter or on the kids skin.
Do you have any home rituals that bring you comfort?
I love burning candles. I think light creates a real ambiance, and I have to say I buy a lot of flowers.
What's one home hack you swear by that promotes a healthy lifestyle?

What does a healthy home mean to you?
A healthy home to me is everything being quite clean, well organised, having beautiful healthy food and using organic products where possible. Having a lot of time at home is a part of having a healthy home, and everyone within it having good health.

As a busy mum, is there a home hack you swear by to save yourself time or stress or just make things easier?
I know I'm repeating myself, but probably being quite well organised with where things are, so that when I need to randomly find a battery or the kids’ soccer uniform, I know where it is.
Before UNTOLDMOULD, were you thinking about the quality of the air in your home?
The reason that UNTOLDMOULD came to be was because we actually experienced mould in our home and the negative impacts of it on our family's health. So that's why UNTOLDMOULD was born. And I think that's what's scary - it’s often not until it actually negatively impacts your health that you think about the air that you're breathing, and you think about maybe the damp in the corner of that room and whether or not it could be mould. Or perhaps you're even living with visible mould and you're not doing anything about it because you don't realise the ramifications for your health. So that's why we're here - to help people test their spaces, whether it's already visible or not, and why our motto is “making the invisible visible,” because often it is a silent, deadly killer.

How important is it to you to know that your family is now breathing healthy, fresh air?
It's pivotal to our family's health. I think we all prioritise so much - as I said, using healthy ingredients and buying organic food and using appropriate products on our surfaces and so on, but we often don't think about the air that’s around us. And it's probably the most important thing to think about first.
